- Confirm the source of the SEO recommendation and the affected URL or page template.
- Translate the recommendation into specific implementation work, such as title tags, meta descriptions, headings, internal links, schema, page copy, redirects, image alt text, or tracking cleanup.
- Check for strategy risk before editing: conflicting keywords, duplicate location pages, canonical changes, noindex/indexing policy, or redirects.
- Make the approved implementation change in the source site, not as a one-off live edit unless the platform requires it.
- Verify the page output after build or publish.
- Leave handoff notes that explain what changed in plain English and what should be monitored later.
Definition of done
Section titled “Definition of done”The SEO implementation is done when the recommendation is translated into a verified page change, the affected URL is documented, and the client-facing owner has a simple explanation of the work completed.
