Needs review — This SOP contains our content but has not been verified by Nick. Treat as a working draft until marked Live.

Use this SOP when a crawl, audit, Search Console review, Search Atlas finding, or manual QA check surfaces a technical SEO issue that needs site-level correction.

Primary owner: Website / SEO Specialist Current assignee: Jakob Supporting owner: Operations or Nick for approval-sensitive changes

  1. Classify the issue: metadata, schema, broken link, redirect, canonical, indexability, sitemap, robots, tracking, performance, duplicate page, or crawl error.
  2. Confirm whether the issue is real on the live page or only present in a stale tool report.
  3. Identify the source file, CMS setting, Cloudflare rule, plugin, or script causing the issue.
  4. Stop for approval before changing canonical rules, redirects, noindex/index settings, robots rules, DNS, or anything that can alter live search visibility beyond the approved task.
  5. Make the smallest safe fix and verify the rendered output.
  6. Record the before/after evidence and whether the tool may need time to recrawl.

The technical SEO issue is done when the live or preview output is corrected, risk-sensitive changes were approved, and the task notes show what changed, how it was verified, and what needs recrawling or monitoring.
